A visual novel is a niche visual entertainment genre that was initially developed in Japan. Many titles are inspired by and based on Japanese media, ranging from anime, to manga, to light novels, to even web novels. As the genre has gained popularity in other parts of the world, it has become far more acceptable, and a great many titles have been released. The genre has also been updated with various types of media including anime and manga. These titles usually take place in the real world with the aid of some combination of text and anime/manga cutscenes. In these games, the player must make a series of decisions in various ways and can progress the story by making those choices. To this end, the text is often broken up by short anime/manga scenes or “quests” in which the player must make a choice. These are usually of one of three types: H-scenes which display uncensored sex, L-scenes which display just mild sexual content, and M-scenes which display mild to moderate sexual content. Quests normally consist of only these three types, with no H- or L-scenes. Once the player completes a chapter, a branching timeline is available to choose from. Normal endings are straightforward and often have only one choice that leads to one of the three standard endings depending on the chosen route. The other endings lead to “alt” endings in which multiple options are available, as well as “unique” endings which are sometimes glitchy and sometimes don’t make a lot of sense, but offer a unique and different outcome. In some cases, “alt” and “unique” endings are identical and only differ in how the player’s choices are interpreted. Sometimes these differences are small, and sometimes they can be drastic, leading to very different experiences.

This is a visual novel game that tells the story of two Japanese high-schoolers, Youjo Ryosuke and Yui. The game has three routes, the main one being the “Love Triangle” where Youjo Ryosuke will choose among three girls. Keep in mind that the three girls are not only high-schoolers, but they are also the high-schoolers of the three rival schools. The “Cool School” Route is about the “Cool School” and its incompatibility between the human school and the monsters, that will end up in a violent confrontation. The “Faraway School” Route is about a new junior high school that is being built in the town, and the worries that it will be abandoned as the new high school is finished. There are multiple endings, and those endings will be seen by you depending on the choices you make during the course of the game. The cast is very large, and while there’s always a character that you can choose, in many cases the characters can express their affection to you. It’s about a boy who had a taste for the forbidden fruit, a girl he can never forget…She saw him with the one she loved, and she lost him without a single word…They never met again…It was as though it happened only in her mind…Everything he was, and everything she was, disappeared from her life…and even as she grew up, she became a girl who could not talk, and could not erase the taste of tears from her lips…He used to tell her stories, long stories she had to never forget.
